Job Description
Join Cherokee Nation as a PACU RN and play a vital role in providing exceptional post-anesthesia care to surgical patients. This position involves working exclusively in the Operating Room (OR) setting, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and recovery. You will be responsible for closely monitoring patients emerging from anesthesia, managing pain, and coordinating care to facilitate smooth transitions from surgery to recovery. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care in the PACU, closely monitoring patients’ vital signs, airway, and overall condition.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient stability and safety during recovery.
Administer medications and interventions as per physician orders and hospital protocols.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and comprehensively.
Respond promptly to patient needs and emergency situations with professionalism and confidence.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in the PACU area.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
Active RN License in the State of Oklahoma or Compact State
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification
Experience & Education
Minimum of 3 years of recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience ; preferably 5 or more years
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (RN) from an accredited institution
Strong foundation in post-surgical patient care, vital sign assessment, and emergency response
