About The Position

Must-Have : Proficiency in immediate post-operative cardiac surgery recovery

Description :

Candidate will take a proctored CVICU exam and interview with the manager via video conference.

Specialty area focuses on Cardiovascular Intensive Care within a mixed medical-surgical unit.

The unit has 16 beds / rooms dedicated to patient care.

Average patient load includes 1 cardiac surgery patient and 12 additional general med-surg ICU patients.

Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Common diagnoses include mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valve replacements, as well as CABG and AAA repair.

Experience with IABP, CRRT, and ECMO is preferred but not required.

Shifts include every other weekend, with holidays required as well.

There is a requirement for call or standby duty.

The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs.

Charting system utilized is Cerner.

Candidate must be first to float to different units as needed.

Overall, the role encompasses critical care nursing in a specialized cardiovascular environment.
