Job description

Job Title : Estimator Concrete & Structural Projects (Federal)

Location : Long Beach, CA

Position Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in concrete and structural projects to join our preconstruction team in Long Beach. The ideal candidate will bring prior federal project experience , with the ability to prepare accurate and competitive bids for large-scale infrastructure and building projects.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for federal concrete / structural projects
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for formwork, rebar, concrete, and structural elements
  • Develop labor, equipment, and material pricing in line with federal project requirements
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor / vendor bids and ensure proper scope coverage
  • Prepare bid proposals, cost reports, and value engineering options for review
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and proposal presentations as required
  • Maintain accurate estimating databases and historical cost data for future bids
  • Collaborate with project management and field operations to align estimates with constructability

Qualifications :

  • 510+ years of estimating experience in concrete / structural projects
  • Prior federal project estimating experience required (USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of federal bid procedures and compliance documentation
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, WinEst, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
