Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool position with night shifts and NJ or compact RN license required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg and Telemetry Float Pool
  • Float to 8 or more units including ED holding, Med / Surg, Post Coronary Care, Post Intensive Care, Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedics, Geriatric, Wound Care, and Transitional Care
  • Patient ratios are typically 1 : 6 but may vary based on acuity and census
  • Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)
  • Every other weekend shifts required
  • Uses Epic EMR for documentation
  • Required to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
  • Floating to other units within skill set is mandatory
  • Provide direct nursing care to a diverse adult patient population throughout multiple inpatient units
  • Orientation includes Epic training and non-billable module completion prior to start date
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted prior to booking; no schedule changes will be accommodated onsite
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Returning staff must be absent from the health system for at least one year to be eligible
  • Holiday work is required according to the hospital’s winter holiday policy

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Med / Surg Telemetry required
  • Previous experience in telemetry is required
  • IMC / Stepdown / PCU experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • References required for consideration
