About The Position

Must-Have : Ability to read and interpret telemetry; experience in MedSurg preferred; must be willing to care for patients in both MedSurg and telemetry.

Description :

Unit has a total of 30 beds, organized into three 10-bed units.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1 : 5-6.

Common diagnoses include surgical patients such as total hip and knee replacements, small bowel resections, hysterectomies, and exploratory laps.

Medical patients typically have MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, and COVID.

Telemetry patients primarily present with chest pain.

Clinician must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract.

Failure to score at least 80% in two attempts results in a six-month do-not-use status.

Floating is required to the Multi-Care Unit and Pediatric unit to care for adult patients, as well as additional locations.

Charge RN will manage 50 inpatient beds, including multiple specialty units.

If no nurse aides are available, registered nurses will manage 3 patients and provide primary care.

Staff rotates on standby if census is low, and travelers may or may not be included in this rotation.

Dress code allows for various scrub colors, except camouflage.

Nurses must be willing to precept nursing students.

Remote Monitor Techs are available, but registered nurses are required to read telemetry strips.

The schedule includes every other weekend and a holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly.
