VCA Morris Plains Animal Hospital is looking for a dedicated and dynamic veterinary professional to join our one-of-a-kind team in a cross-trained hybrid role -combining the hands-on care of a Veterinary Assistant with the essential client-facing responsibilities of a Client Service Representative .

About the Hybrid Role :

Patient Care & Clinical Support

Providing compassionate care for patients in all interactions.

Preparing and verifying dispensed medications and in hospital administration

Collecting and processing lab samples

Performing venipuncture and placing IV catheters (advanced skill).

Conducting hands-free radiography (with sedation if required).

Preparing and administering vaccines and subcutaneous fluids

Assisting surgical staff with surgical and dental procedure preparation, practice, recovery and clean up.

Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records through EMR systems.

Performing basic hospital maintenance including but not limited to : laundry, cleaning, restocking and organizing

Client education and care though all phases of the client journey

Client Communication & Customer Service

Communicating with pet owners with professionalism and empathy.

Greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and pets to exam rooms.

Scheduling and confirming appointments.

Placing follow-up calls and reaching out to prospective clients.

Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.

Recommending, selecting, and dispensing products and services, including prescriptions.

Answering client questions regarding hospital services and general pet care (e.g., heartworm prevention, flea / tick control, housebreaking).

Administrative & Facility Responsibilities

Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.

Maintaining hospital cleanliness and sanitation at all times, including removal of animal waste, to ensure a neat and welcoming environment both inside and outside the facility.
