Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a dynamic marine construction team in Long Beach, California. This role is pivotal to ensuring marine construction projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. You will coordinate daily field activities, track production, manage documentation, and uphold strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily construction activities with field teams, superintendents, and foremen to drive efficient and safe project execution.
Monitor and report production progress, identifying issues early and recommending solutions.
Manage construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and progress payments.
Conduct site surveys and bathymetric mapping using software tools like Hypack to validate project progress.
Assist in project scheduling, material coordination, and communication between the field and office.
Enforce compliance with MSHA, OSHA, Corps of Engineers (EM 385-1-1) safety policies, leading safety meetings and hazard analyses.
Serve as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) or Quality Control Manager on select projects as needed.
Support technical layout and CAD drawing review with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or heavy civil construction roles such as Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Superintendent.
Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC credential; support available during application process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and construction document control.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience with USACE projects and EM 385-1-1 safety standards is preferred.
Familiarity with HeavyBid estimating software a plus.
