House Parent
#1. Must be 21 or over
#2. A high school diploma or equivalent
#3. House parent couples must be married for at least two years
#4. House parent couples can have up to two children of dependent age
#5. Single house parents cannot have children of dependent age
Responsibilities of the House Parent:
- Live in your assigned cottage, helping to care for and provide for up to eight children.
- Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines.
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling to residents.
- Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth.
- Ensure that all children's physical needs (food, shelter, etc.) are met.
- Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations.
- Act as a positive role model to youth by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes towards others.
Requirements of the House Parent:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in childcare or related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Ability to work independently with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- If you are a married couple you need to be married for at least two (2) years.
- If you are applying as a couple, you may bring two dependent children with you (5 years or older). Single applicants cannot bring any dependent children.
- Single applicants may bring one (1) pet, couples may bring two (2). *Breed and weight limitations apply.
Other Key Requirements for the House Parent:
- In office 24/7 - will live onsite
- No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
