ROLE OVERVIEW

The Regional Finance Director is a member of the Americas Leadership and Global Finance Leadership teams for the HSBC Client Account. They are a strategic leader for all finance activities for the region and responsible for managing forecasts, reporting, analytics and budget management in line with contractual requirements for both the client and also internally for JLL. They are accountable for team results and must ensure compliance in all accounting processes. The role is critical to the success of the Client relationship through driving informative decisions based on the current spend plan, navigating through Client priorities, market conditions and strategic business plans. They will be directly accountable for the United States and also provide oversight of the Latin America Region.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Provide clear direction and strategic Financial advice to the team across the region
  • Sets objectives and measurable goals and motivates others to achieve them
  • Actively support transformation projects and look for innovations within your area of responsibilities to add value to the client and the JLL business

Stakeholder Management

  • Financial strategic partner for Regional Account Director and leadership team.
  • Proactively develop and manage both external and internal client / business unit relationships ensuring that the expected services are delivered across region consistent with the contractual scope of services and within budgets.
  • Actively encourage an environment that supports teamwork, functional integration, financial transparency, co-operation & performance excellence across the region.
  • Key financial / accounting liaison for Business Unit Executives, Product Line owners and Corporate.
  • Budgeting, Reporting and Financial Performance

  • Ensure timely production of annual budgets and re-forecasts in conjunction with Regional Leadership Team.
  • Ownership of the Americas Regional Account Management Budget and completion of Year End Reconciliation.
  • Ensure delivery of accurate Month End Results with appropriate commentary across both Client and JLL Reporting.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of client's accounting structure and associated systems and translating knowledge to ensure smooth and consistent flow of financial data.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver in timely manner the Client's approved financial formats across the region.
  • Coordinate and track cost saving initiatives across the region.
  • Drive performance against financial KPIs including Budget overspend, Financial Compliance and delivery of insights.
  • Manage the revenue recognition process in compliance with contract terms.
  • Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly Management Executive Committee variance reports
  • Coordinate with US accounting team on the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statement packages.
  • Invoice Payment & Processing

  • Effectively manage processing and payment of all regional property operating and capital expenditure invoices.
  • Ensure that incidental revenue streams are accounted for in a timely manner.
  • Accountable for the timely coordination of the JLL invoice processing and monitoring of the accounts receivable.
  • Team Management

  • Ensure the team is structured to maintain & exceed the client's financial expectations.
  • Manage and mentor staff and help guide their development (including preparation of goals & objectives, reviews)
  • Develop annual objectives and succession plans for all roles in the regional finance team.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and collaborate across other functional verticals within JLL in adopting / sharing of best practices.
  • Support JLL Work Dynamics Finance objectives regarding efficiencies through use of Financial Shared Services.
  • Responsible for financial management of the regions compensation planning process
  • Governance, Controls & Compliance, Policies & Procedures and Audit

  • Support client governance programme to ensure compliance to the MSA.
  • Contribute to Contract Change Control Process. Ensure timely submission and tracking of Budget changes.
  • Ensure data integrity of the systems across the region and audit data.
  • Ensure that appropriate process and system controls are in place to guarantee the integrity of all transactions.
  • Ensure that all financial accounting and reporting is audit worthy and in keeping with recognized quality management processes.
  • Ensure all staff are well trained on financial systems and effectively able to extract data from the system
  • CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION : KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

    Ideal Experience

    Experience in Finance / Accounting with min 10 years in MNC with regional exposure. Property accounting exp preferred.

    Educated to Degree level in accounting or finance. Accounting certification preferred.

    Strong accounting knowledge, US GAAP knowledge preferred

    Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills
