The Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department is the core of Raytheon's expertise in receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology. Our team is responsible for the comprehensive design, development, integration, and production support of cutting-edge products.
This opportunity is for a multi-disciplined Senior Hardware Development and Testing Engineer . In this role, you will be the driving force in the design, analysis, and hands-on integration and testing of RF components, circuits, and Receiver Exciter subsystems within both design and production settings. Key Responsibilities :
Investigate and resolve technical issues in the design, build, and testing of Receiver Exciter subsystems, CCAs, and components.
Design, model, simulate, and verify RF / Microwave circuits and subsystems.
Conduct integration and testing at component, CCA, and subsystem levels.
Facilitate the transition to production and provide technical support to manufacturing and test engineers.
Implement improvements in small projects or processes within your area of responsibility.
Contribute to circuit card and subassembly design updates to address obsolescence and manufacturing issues.
This role is 100% onsite at our facility in Tewksbury , MA or Marlborough, MA , with travel expected to other locations including Andover , MA and Woburn , MA .
Basic Qualifications :
A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in Microwave / RF system, subsystem, and / or component analysis, design, or testing.
Experience with failure analysis and Root-Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations; ideally with supplier and manufacturing issues.
Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is essential.
Preferred Qualifications :
Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting RF and Microwave components / subsystems such as up-converters, down converters, power amplifiers, waveform generators, RF modulators, and limiters.
Background in designing for manufacturability and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis.
Experience in technical writing and formal presentations.
Familiarity with both engineering design and production environments.
Proficiency with tools such as Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, System Vision, MATLAB, Mathcad, IDL, CST, Microwave Design Studio, HFSS, and ADS.
Technical expertise in areas like cascade analysis, filter design, circuit card assembly, high-speed data converter testing, and low noise RF source design.

The salary for this position ranges from $82,000 to $164,000, based on experience and qualifications.
