Summary The Content Creator is responsible for creating and disseminating a variety of communications, messages, and materials to external and internal audiences. This position involves writing, editing, taking photos, and shooting video with creativity and attention to detail. This position drives awareness and consideration, optimizing best practices for community outreach and building a brand presence.
Responsibilities Create content to communicate, promote, and educate internal and external audiences utilizing appropriate platforms.
Support UEC’s brand presence by writing and developing content for programs, services, events, activities, and other platforms involving the Cooperative.
Develop content that supports the identification, development and coordination of community outreach programs and campaigns to increase community partnerships and exposure.
Collaboratively create, develop, and maintain the creative vision for UEC using photography and videography.
Work with department team members to plan and execute events and programs such as outreach to schools, workplaces, fairs, festivals, and other community events, including presenting on electrical safety, energy efficiency, utility careers and other energy topics.
Job duties may include other duties as assigned.
Work across functions and departments, manage multiple concurrent projects and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Oversee vendor relationships for marketing, graphic design and other communications services.
Perform marketing analytics and enact pertinent actions.
Provide professionally edited content free of spelling and grammatical errors.
Proactively develop content ideas to be included in all areas of communication.
Work with partners, news outlets, and other organizations to promote a brand presence and content use for community outreach
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
Must be willing to work flexible hours when projects or assignments warrant work outside of normal business hours.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and foster a spirit of cooperation in the workplace.
Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects well on UEC and contributes to harmonious relations with members and the general public.

Required Qualifications :
Education
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, graphic design, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Has intermediate specialized computer skills that require mastery of applicable software in such fields as Microsoft Office. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress website management system are required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to synthesize, prioritize and clarify information from multiple resources.
A valid Drivers’ License is required for occasional business travel.
