Position Overview :
Under the direction of a Lead Veterinarian, this position will be responsible for working with the Production Operations Team to develop strategies and process-oriented approaches to improve the health and performance of our swine herd. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in all phases of swine production.

What You Will Do :
Work strategically with Live Operations Team to improve Flow PerformanceManagement of Health within flow across all stages of production (Breeding to Market)Contribute to research initiatives at both structure research sites and within the field.Implement treatment strategiesProvide timely diagnostic service and support including the coordination of field sample collections and analysis and communication of diagnostic resultsProvide summaries and recommendations to Live Operations TeamRespond immediately to health challenges as they ariseTroubleshoot specific on-farm health and production problemsDeliver appropriate technical training of the service and farm staffSupport all initiatives and practices related to bio-security and Standard Operating Procedures within the production operation systemSupport FAD preparedness through various avenues including the training of employees as Certified Swine Sampler Collectors.Conduct all necessary regulatory blood testing and / or animal health checksEnsure regulatory compliance of animal movements and product useWhat You Offer Us :
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree1-3 years of experience in veterinary, agriculture, or livestock settings; swine industry experience is a plus.Good understanding of diseases and laboratory analysesProven excellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphereAbility to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external contactsProven ability to use initiative and think independentlyDemonstrated commitment to the swine industry and well-being of livestockAbility and willingness to travelSpecialized or Motorized Equipment and / or Tools :
This position will require operating a company vehicle, or occasional mileage reimbursement. Any employment offer for this position is contingent upon the review of your motor vehicle record (MVR). The MVR will be reviewed to determine insurability based on CF's insurance carrier and company policy.
