About The Position

Job Title : Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession : Surgical Services Specialty : Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Mid Hours per Shift : 8 hours (14 : 30 - 23 : 00) Experience : 2 years required, 4 years preferred License : Valid state license required Certifications : BLS (AHA only) required Must-Have : - Ambulatory OR experience - Experience in General OR, Bariatrics, Endo / Laparoscopic, ENT, Gyn, Ortho, Ortho / Spine, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, among others Description : Surgical tech needed for a community hospital surgery suite. The facility specializes in spine and joint excellence and is recognized among the top in the country. The position involves handling many orthopedic cases and utilizing robotics with Zimmer systems. The schedule consists of 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Shifts will run from 14 : 30 to 23 : 00. On-call duties are required 2-3 times per month from 22 : 00 to 06 : 30, with one weekend on-call each month from 07 : 00 to 19 : 00 or 19 : 00 to 07 : 00. There is no floating between units. Documentation will be done using Meditech. Support services include Interpretation Services, Lift Teams, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Unit Secretary. Provider coverage includes intensivists, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs available 24 / 7. The position requires experience with a variety of surgical procedures including many orthopedic and robotic-assisted surgeries. Skills in sterilization and disinfection, as well as aseptic technique, are essential. Community hospital experience is required. Candidates should also have experience with a range of equipment and procedures relevant to the role. Patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics with an average daily census of 6. The facility boasts top-notch multidisciplinary support. The surgical environment is focused on total joint and orthopedic procedures.
