A Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Care delivers exceptional, patient-centered nursing care in a hospital environment. - Standards of Practice : The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015). This includes assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, coordinating care, promoting health, and evaluating patient progress.\n
- Standards of Professional Performance : The RN is expected to uphold ethical practices, engage in culturally congruent care, communicate effectively, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to leadership and quality practice.\n\nQualifications : \n
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.\n
- Current BCLS certification (must be obtained within one month of hire for new employees).\n
- Registered Nurse license in Connecticut; clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.\n\nPhysical Demands : \n\nThis position requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as the use of sight, hearing, and touch. The RN may encounter infectious diseases and will work with patients facing physical, mental, and emotional challenges. The role involves moderate stress and potential injury risks. Physical tasks include frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting in patient mobility, with weights ranging from five to three hundred pounds.\n\nAdditional Information : \n\nThis position is covered by the Connecticut Healthcare Associates Collective Bargaining Agreement. Orthopedic RN experience is preferred.
