Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a leader to drive the engineering design and deployment of our manufacturing facilities. The VP of Manufacturing Engineering will own facility engineering from concept to commissioning, working hand in hand with the COO and CMO to ensure successful buildouts. This person will be responsible for translating our innovative refining technologies into large scale, repeatable, and efficient manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate has led complex engineering programs, managed EPC contractors, and thrives on delivering projects under aggressive timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering design for new facilities including layouts, process flows, utilities, and equipment integration
  • Manage EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and technical vendors to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop and oversee engineering standards, specifications, and best practices to scale Phoenix Tailings' technologies into robust production systems
  • Partner with the COO and CMO on facility deployment, ensuring engineering readiness for permitting, construction, and commissioning
  • Build and lead an internal team of engineers to support facility expansion and operations
  • Drive risk assessments, design reviews, and engineering validation for critical systems
  • Ensure facilities are designed with Phoenix Tailings' zero waste philosophy at the core
  • Oversee procurement strategies for long lead equipment and coordinate installation and integration plans
  • Provide technical leadership on troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement once facilities are online
  • Qualifications

  • Proven track record leading engineering design and execution of large scale manufacturing or chemical processing facilities
  • Experience managing EPC firms, engineering consultants, and contractors through full project life cycle
  • Deep knowledge of process engineering, facility utilities, and large equipment integration
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver on time and within budget
  • Background in scaling technologies from pilot to commercial production strongly preferred
  • Ability to build and inspire a high performing technical team
