- Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components in the evaluation of components for assembly and subassembly repair / design.
- Directly supports sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for company usage per contract requirements and the Parts Management Plan.
- Operates in a harsh environment / high-reliability design environment with background in aerospace, medical device, automotive, or industrial application experience.
- Experienced with connectors, wires, and cables, including cable / bundle fabrication and harness installation.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Electrical design and / or test experience with electrical components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and cables.
- Specific experience in military aerospace disciplines, either as a defense contractor or through prior military service, especially with Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) .
- Familiarity with military electronics, especially within key electrical disciplines (components, wires / cables, processes, etc.).
- Deep and extensive knowledge of military and aerospace electrical specifications relevant to day-to-day engineering work.
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in wiring design, cable assembly, connector selection, and associated engineering responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of aircraft and weapons system design / requirements to support the selection of alternate electrical components for both new development and legacy systems.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Proficient in using project management tools to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.
- Incorporates Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles into materials, processes, qualification testing, and lab procedures.
- Supports and establishes work statements, defines technical strategies, and provides engineering consultation while maintaining communication with management.
- Significant experience interpreting and applying military and industry standards in engineering processes.
Education & Experience
Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
