The Opportunity
We are seeking a Manager of Accounts Payable to lead and optimize the end-to-end AP function in a high-volume, multi-entity environment. This leader will oversee daily operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, drive process improvements, and provide strategic insights through KPI development and performance analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice processing, payment execution, and expense reimbursements
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of AP professionals, including performance management and hiring support
- Establish and maintain AP policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Design and monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
- Manage AP tax reporting (including 1099, 1042, and state sales tax requirements)
- Lead quarterly and year-end accruals, reconciliations, and audit support
- Partner with internal stakeholders and leadership to identify process enhancements and operational solutions
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5–7 years of Accounts Payable experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, AP processes, and internal controls
- Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments
- Demonstrated ability to build and analyze KPIs and operational metrics
- Experience with federal and state tax reporting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
- CPA or CMA designation
- Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP)
- Familiarity with automated AP workflow tools
