Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent. A passion for healthcare and patient care. Previous healthcare experience, especially in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is advantageous. Comfort with mixing medical solutions according to established protocols. Ability to distinguish all primary colors. Complete the approved USRC training program, including competency demonstrations within the first 8 weeks of employment. CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire or as per state regulations. Obtain Patient Care Technician certification through a recognized state or national program within 18 months of hire and maintain it in good standing. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional care to patients facing renal failure. Working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN), you will be integral in providing crucial treatment and support.
Your key responsibilities include :
- Direct Patient Care : Engage with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatments. This involves collecting vital patient statistics, initiating and monitoring treatments, terminating sessions, and gathering blood samples as directed by physicians.
- Technical Duties : Prepare dialysis machines for treatment and ensure they are properly cleaned and disinfected after use. Conduct safety checks and log results to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with regulations.
- Safety and Compliance : Utilize appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment, and adhere strictly to all company policies and legal requirements. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing education initiatives.
