$7,500The Certified Medical Assistant II plays a crucial role in providing both clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic setting. This role operates under the clinical supervision of healthcare providers and the general guidance of management.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct intake processes, collecting patient data including vital signs and the reason for the visit.Gather comprehensive medical and social history from patients and their families.Verify patients' current medications, allergies, and preferred pharmacies.Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures.Perform specimen collection and phlebotomy.Administer medications as directed by a provider.Conduct necessary tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under supervision.Review patient records for routine health screenings.Ensure exam rooms are stocked with the necessary supplies and equipment.Provide patients with post-visit instructions and educational materials.Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment rooms.Coordinate patient registration and scheduling of tests and referrals.Communicate effectively on clinic telephones and assist with patient inquiries.Support emergency situations as directed by healthcare providers.Additional responsibilities may include training new medical assistants or externs, managing clinic quality roles, and overseeing supply management.Other Information :
Education : Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure / Certification : A valid Medical Assistant certification from recognized associations is required, along with Basic Life Support Certification from a relevant organization.
Experience : At least one year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant is mandatory.
Skills : Effective communication, teamwork, and competence in using electronic medical records are essential.
