ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Maintenance Department
Position Overview :
Effective deployment of capital dollars and resources targeted at the implementation of equipment improvement and sustainability strategy projects. Project management of engineering and related initiatives
Specific Responsibilities :
- Develop capital investment strategies, programs, and projects
- Insures compliance with plant and federal safety standards
- Engineering processes, policies, and procedures
- Identification and implementation of improvements efforts
- Champions the sharing and leveraging of initiatives, processes and accomplishments within plant
- Identifies and champions improvement and functional excellence initiatives
- Plans and establishes engineering schedules and ensures performance to schedule
- Set engineering strategies to support business objectives
- Development and management of engineering project portfolio
- Project planning, management and control
- Monitoring and control of capital spending
- Project plan development including scope, schedule, budget estimate, and risk identification
- Accountable for all Plant power distributions
- Assist Maintenance on electrical / combustion trouble shooting
- Assist in training maintenance electricians
- Coordinate departmental systems upgrades.
- Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC Circuits. High, medium, and low voltage.

Minimum 10-15 years engineering in heavy industrial manufacturing environmentMaintenance experience a plusDirect project management experience including construction supervision and unit control projectsContract administrationSafety :
Ensure personal compliance with safety policies and rules, including PPE requirements.Report any issues not immediately resolvable to appropriate manager.Make recommendations regarding procedures, processes or tools that improve safety and support a safe work environment.Education and Experience :
BS degree in Engineering or Business (engineering preferred)Experience in steel-related or industrial environmentPhysical and Other Requirements :
Ability to safely move around in a heavy industrial plant environment for up to 12 hours per dayLifting to 50 pounds on an occasional basisAbility to work irregular shifts and extended hours as required, and maintain job performance standardsUniversal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
