Job description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is looking for a highly skilled ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our dynamic team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you will collaborate closely with customers to identify their technical needs and business goals, designing and implementing custom cloud solutions that drive results.

As a PCA, you will lead the creation of solution designs to achieve customer business outcomes (CBO). You will play a crucial role in the pre-sales process, providing your technical expertise and insights throughout the customer's cloud journey. Your responsibilities will also include :

Designing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to meet customer CBOs
Offering technical guidance and best practices during both pre-sales and implementation phases
Working alongside Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and efficient
Acting as a trusted advisor on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions
Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and the development of reusable artifacts

Basic Qualifications :

5+ years experiencing in cloud architecture and implementing cloud solutions

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Strong hands-on development experience with languages like Python or Java, and data technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or Kinesis

3+ years of experience with the AWS service suite, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and Security tools or frameworks

Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS / SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications :

Advanced degree or AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional)

Deep understanding of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, and machine learning

Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)

Expertise in optimizing performance and managing costs in cloud environments

Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience with technical pre-sales and mission-focused solution architecture, demonstrating the ability to drive revenue through technical leadership

Previous experience with federal or defense customers on complex enterprise cloud migrations and modernization initiatives in classified environments
