Position Description

Job Purpose

The FP&A Manager supports Advanced Integration & Controls (AIC) by leading budgeting, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and financial reporting. This role works directly with the President and leadership team to deliver insights that improve project profitability, resource planning, and business decision-making. The position also oversees key accounting functions including project-level financial tracking, job costing, and revenue recognition to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate thrives in a project-based environment and excels at translating financial data into strategic insight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Lead and manage AIC's annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational capacity.
  • Oversee the development of detailed financial models for forecasting revenue, cost drivers, labor utilization, backlog conversion, and margin performance.
  • Serve as a key financial advisor to the President and executive leadership team by delivering actionable insights that drive business performance and resource allocation decisions.
  • Conduct strategic financial analysis to support pricing strategies, bid competitiveness, capital investments, and new service line initiatives.
  • Develop and continuously improve reporting frameworks, dashboards, and financial KPIs for use by executives, project managers, and department leads.
  • Translate complex financial data into presentations and briefings for internal stakeholders, including variance analysis, trend summaries, and forward-looking recommendations.
  • Partner with Project Management, Engineering, Field Services, and Procurement to support project-level profitability analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization or margin improvement.
  • Support long-range planning by modeling growth scenarios, market opportunities, and capacity constraints.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in forecasting, data integrity, and financial planning tools; lead implementation in coordination with other departments and systems teams.
  • Act as liaison to Corporate CFO and central accounting teams for GL, AR / AP, payroll, audits, and close cycles.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP including accounting policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Effective collaboration skills with experience supporting cross-functional operational teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting / visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Comfortable operating in a project-based, engineering, or technical business environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or financial planning & analysis.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a senior-level or leadership Accounting or FP&A role.
  • Prior experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or technical services industries preferred.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • A valid California Driver's License
