The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Activities Assistant/CNA to join our team! This person will be responsible for promoting creative and cognitively stimulating activities, providing quality assistance with activities of daily living to enable residents to maintain independent living for as long as appropriate and possible.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning and implementation of the Memory Day Program schedule.
- Set up refreshments before the group & clean up after group dismisses.
- Working with dining for the ordering of lunches for the week - being responsible for picking up lunches.
- Be aware of member's needs - and ready to engage and encourage if a member is not able or uninterested in a planned activity.
- Assist a member from their home and back if needed.
- Assist with transportation, transfers or ambulation as resident's condition warrants.
- Provide reminders to take medication.
- Facilitate exercise programs and encourage residents to participate in campus activities.
- Offer companionship for off campus excursions/appointments/shopping.
- Provide ambulation/wheelchair assistance for on campus events.
- Assist with ADL's, dressing/bathing, meal preparation and household tasks including light laundry, dishes and bed making. This can include pet care as well.
Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina CNA license.
- Must have experience in geriatrics, preferably with Dementia and Alzheimer's.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to work in an environment with pets and assist residents with their pet's needs (i.e. walking, feeding, cleaning up after).
- Proficient skills and knowledge of Personal Care Attendant duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
Part-time employees are eligible for medical, dental and vision after twelve months of employment.
