Test Engineering Manager

A confidential, established manufacturer of high-reliability electronics that supports aerospace, defense, and space programs is seeking an experienced Test Engineering Manager to lead test and process engineering at their Bohemia, NY facility. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive test innovation, failure analysis, and process improvements that directly impact mission-critical products.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of test and process engineers and technicians.
• Oversee design, development, and optimization of test systems, fixtures, and test software .
• Drive failure analysis investigations for in-house and customer-returned products; provide data-driven recommendations to improve reliability and reduce failures.
• Develop and document new processes, SOPs, and travelers to support production and test operations.
• Collaborate with design, product development, procurement, manufacturing, and product assurance to resolve production issues and optimize product trade-offs (cost, performance, schedule).
• Manage project plans, resource allocation, and schedules for introduction of new test technologies and process changes.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness in both test and assembly areas.
• Research and recommend new testing methods, equipment, and capital investments to expand test capabilities.
