Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Engineering / Facilities department by overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations for the resort. This role ensures that guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are kept in good working condition through timely repairs, preventive maintenance, and hands-on leadership. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Engineering Manager to assign tasks, monitor performance, and assist with training a skilled, service-oriented team.
Responsibilities
Daily Operations
Supervise and participate in daily maintenance and repair tasks across the property.
Assign and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion.
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, equipment, and common areas to identify issues.
Assist with troubleshooting and hands-on repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Team Leadership
Direct, coach, and support a team of maintenance technicians.
Provide on-the-job training to ensure safe work practices and proper use of tools / equipment.
Help schedule staff and maintain coverage for all shifts and emergencies.
Preventive Maintenance
Support the implementation of the preventive maintenance program for guest rooms and equipment.
Track completed work orders and ensure accurate documentation.
Monitor inventory of supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with local codes, fire safety, and OSHA regulations.
Participate in emergency response efforts, including power outages, storms, or equipment failures.
Keep accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and incident reports.
Guest & Operational Support
Respond quickly to guest-impacting issues with professionalism and urgency.
Work with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure rooms are guest-ready.
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred.
2+ years of maintenance experience in hospitality, multifamily housing, or commercial facilities.
Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of building systems : electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair.
Strong communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand / walk for extended periods.
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Work at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
