Position Overview
The Referral Coordinator at Keck Medicine of USC is a motivated, organized, and efficient individual responsible for managing and coordinating patient referrals, communicating with patients, supporting clinic synchronization, and maintaining accurate data and reports. The role requires proficiency in computer software including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
Essential Duties
- Communicate effectively with co-workers regarding data and referral information.
- Track and document referrals to ensure patient safety and team awareness, utilizing IT databases as needed.
- Gather and provide clinical background and referral needs, adhering to guidelines.
- Enter and submit registration data accurately and promptly.
- Review referral details with patients, ensuring understanding of expectations.
- Maintain data tables for reporting and audit purposes.
- Prepare departmental reports and utilize statistical tools for meaningful data analysis.
- Ensure timely referral processing and maintain a steady referral flow with excellent customer service.
- Support department operations as directed by management.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in outreach activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of ambulatory care demographics, clinical data, medical terminology, and statistics.Proficiency with networked computers, data mining, and statistical software.Mastery of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access scripting.Strong graphical presentation and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience in referral management, data management, or health information systems.Chinese language skills.Licenses / Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.The hourly rate is $25.00 - $39.69, considering experience and other factors.
