Seeking seasoned post production engineer with at least 10 years of experience to add to the growing team at Point360.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operators, editors and colorists with technical or workflow issues on a myriad of systems including Autodesk Flame, Colorfront Transkoder, BlackMagicDesign resolve, Protools, Avid Media Composer, Telestream Vantage, and the various Adobe products.
  • Participate in research, design, documenting, testing, deployment and support of post-production systems and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain storage systems including Quantum StorNext SAN, Isilon, servers and NAS devices.
  • Perform software, firmware and security upgrades and security patch installations.
  • Monitor and respond to support requests, following through to resolution, including documentation and post mortem analysis.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers.
  • Plan and execute off-hours maintenance tasks, rebuilds and upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Experience with storage systems including Quantum StorNext, Brocade fiber channel switches, fiber optics transports including DWDM fiber drivers / MUX and cabling systems, IP networks, firewalls and complex ethernet switch topologies.
  • Extensive experience with Linux, Mac and windows administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtualization and hypervisors.
  • Background in production facility infrastructure including SDI, reference and RS422 routing and router control systems (NVision, Utah Scientific, ThinkLogical, Evertz).
  • Experience with technical power distribution, UPS backup systems, HVAC load calculations a plus
  • Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network virtualization including VLAN and VRF, and routing protocols such as OSPF.
  • Scripting and programming experience in Python, C, Java a plus.
  • Willingness to work a flexible shift including overtime and weekends when required.
