Job descriptionMaintains public and common areas of the facility in a safe, orderly and sanitary condition Must be able to identify and report need for repairs, unsafe conditions and respond appropriately in emergency situations Works in areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and will handle and transport infectious waste Cleans interior and exterior windows on a scheduled basis Conducts routine inspections of own area of assignment to ensure that departmental quality standards are achieved and maintained One year of previous experience working in an institutional / health care housekeeping environment, preferred Ability to communicate at a basic level, orally and in writing, in English Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents and calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment Ability to work independently, without direct supervision Able to meet physical demands of position : Push and pull carts and equipment, up to 100 lbs. Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Able to use necessary cleaning equipment including : carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum Able to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents Able to calculate the amount of linen and supplies needed for work assignment Able to pass background checks for a licensed community Able to wear personal protective equipment including masks and gloves as required by the CDC
