Research Engineer, Dept. of Radiology, Jonas Lab

We are seeking a highly motivated Biomedical or Mechanical Engineer to support the development of novel interventional medical devices. These devices integrate needle / catheter engineering, optical imaging, and implantable microdevices to improve precision in cancer diagnostics and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prototype medical needles, catheters, and microdevices using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
• Fabricate parts using CNC machining, 3D printing, and related tools
• Assemble and test devices for preclinical (ex vivo / in vivo) and early-stage clinical use
• Collaborate with physicians, scientists, and engineers across oncology, optical imaging, and device development
• Support in vivo studies in coordination with the interventional radiology and tumor biology teams
• Assist with regulatory documentation and submissions for IRB and FDA pathways (e.g., IDE)
