Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flavor Trainee to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to utilize a degree in food science or a related field and / or significant hands-on experience in a flavor or food lab setting. This position will assist in the development and preparation of flavors under the supervision of the Senior Flavor Chemist. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in flavor development.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :    The Flavor Trainee will be in charge of formula compounding, sensory, analytical and follow up documentation of flavors. General lab duties in flavor development lab, compounding, raw material procurement, management and restocking as needed. This individual must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in ways that foster good relationships with those inside and outside the company, while achieving and enhancing performance standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Ability to compound simple to complex formulas with speed and accuracy while maintaining lab safety and proper PPE. Basic flavor modifications with substitution of raw materials, diluents or attribute change.
• Ability to compound simple liquid blends, emulsions and spray dried flavors.
• Understand and utility of the following equipment : density meter, pH meter, overhead stirrers, high shear mixer, homogenizer and spray dryer.
• Creation of technical documentation as needed.
