Assistant Chief Building Engineer
We move fast around here, so we're in need of an Assistant Chief Building Engineer to help keep our buildings in tiptop shape so that we can stay cool and safe while bustling. Not only will you get to maintain some of the coolest buildings in beautiful St. Pete (not to brag, but they are pretty cool), you'll be in charge of developing and executing building-specific maintenance and safety procedures. You'll also manage all operational aspects of building systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee all building systems including fire / life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues
- Must remain current with latest HVAC technology and safety trends
- Develop specifications and oversee maintenance / repair service contracts; develop and write RFP's while maintaining budget impacts as required for projects
- Oversee preventative maintenance schedule on all HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an on-going basis
- Develop comprehensive annual inspection process for facilities
- Coordinate with outside contractors for equipment service and repair
- Request, review, and submit work orders, bids, and proposals from vendors
- Schedule and document maintenance and repairs on building equipment (including updating equipment records)
- Communicate frequently with employees and vendors to resolve issues and provide project status updates
- Coordinate and manage Jira tickets with employee review
- Prioritize daily workflows of the building maintenance team
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy of stock quantities
- Manage asset lists and keep all buildings up to date
Here's What We're Looking For
Strong mechanical and HVAC background and knowledge including VRF / VRV, VAV, and RTU systems; Daikin Certified preferredMinimum of 7-10 years of related work experience in a commercial property setting or any similar combination of education or experienceProficient PC skills; familiar with Energy Management Systems (EMS), building automation (Johnson Metasys and Tridium Jace preferred), and fire alarm systemsExcellent interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilityVocational / technical training certificate or college degree in related field requiredMeet necessary health and physical qualificationsDemonstrate and uphold all of Power Design's core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation and growthBenefits and Perks
