2nd Shift Position Hours : Monday - Friday : 2 : 30 PM - 11 : 00 PM SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise and oversee select Machine Shop areas. Assign work and train current and new employees. Perform quality checks and audits. Take direction from Machine Shop Manager and Supervisors. Perform exacting and diversified operations utilizing various manual types of equipment such as Bridgeport millers, horizontal millers, lathes, CNC equipment and other related machine shop equipment to manufacture complete parts from piece part prints. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Work from verbal instructions, shop orders, and blueprints to fabricate components and assemblies complete to print tolerance using one or a combination of machinery such as Bridgeport millers, lathes, grinders, rotary indexing tables, dividing heads and all related shop equipment. Sets up work with existing tooling and fixtures and in some instances must devise and fabricate specialized fixtures and holding devices for a particular operation. Assign daily work to other employees utilizing various reports and / or verbal instructions. Training current and new employees on machine shop equipment as needed. Selects cutting tools, machine spindle speeds and feeds based on machining operations to be performed. Maintain SPC Data on all parts. Maintain equipment by checking oil levels greasing or checking for loose or worn parts. Perform first piece inspection according to drawings and prints. Inspect all machined components complete by using any and all inspection equipment necessary. Evaluate and determine best / proper machine methods to be utilized. Ensure good quality and a clean and safe work area at all times. As assigned, work and supervise extended shifts and open and close building. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES : Operate CNC machinery when needed. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS : Level of knowledge usually associated with a High / vocational school diploma plus specialized training in math, trigonometry, and complex blueprint reading. Three (3) to five (5) years of related machine shop experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Required to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Combination of Manufacturing and Office environment. Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and odors.
