Staff Accountant

Position Purpose: To steward the ministry resources and provide accurate and timely financial reports.

Direct Responsibilities:

• Compile monthly/annual financial statements


• Process and record weekly deposit


• Serve as giving coordinator and help answer donor questions


• Prepare giving statements


• Serve the church and school by pro-actively providing regular reporting
  


• Serve as administrator for both church and school giving systems


• Serve as point person for developing and organizing budget process


• Break down budget reports to monthly to assist staff with financial stewardship


• Track fixed asset and depreciation schedules (within accounting software)


• Oversee bookkeeping/accounts payable staff
  


• Help with continual improvement and accounting process management

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: Some previous accounting and/or finance experience is required


• Demonstrated ability to interact with others and a heart for serving.

• Computer/Tech Skills: Candidates will be asked to work with the following tech/software:
  
  
  
  • Accounting software (currently use Aplos)
  
  
  • Accounts Payable software (currently use RAMP)
  
  
  • Intermediate use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Pages, Keynote
  
  
  • Church Management Database System (Planning Center Online)
  
  
  • Donation Management Systems (Planning Center and Pushpay)
  
  
  
  

Position Details:

• Approximately 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. We can be somewhat flexible with schedule.
  


• Pay is based on experience (exempt)
