Summary : The ultrasound technician is responsible for coordinating ultrasounds, accurately preparing and documenting ultrasound images, and working with physicians to provide the utmost care to patients during their visit.

Qualifications / Requirements :
1. Adhere to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations; the standard of care in the Community applicable to Employee; relevant licensure / certification, accreditation, and ethical standards; third-party payer requirements; and Clinic's bylaws, rules and policies, including but not limited to Clinic's employment policies.
2. Graduate from an accredited program of diagnostic medical sonography or related field
3. RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification or equivalency
4. BLS certification from American Heart Association
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols
7. Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment
8. Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed
Work Conditions : This position will have a high level of social contact with patients, doctors, and other office staff. There may be times when this position will have to deal with conflict situations, including patients who are unpleasant or angry due to the effects of their illness. Walking, standing, typing, speaking, writing, and lifting objects that may weigh more than 10 pounds is required. Use of computerized equipment and other technology is required. This position will work exclusively in-doors with a clean, regulated environment. However, exposure to disease and infection from close contact with patients is a risk. Please wear gloves, masks, or other protective gear as required and provided. Errors in procedures, treatments, or records could result in serious injury to patients, staff, or an employee, increasing the risk of contamination. Exposure to equipment that emits noise or other by-products (radiation, magnetized fields, etc.) is highly likely.
