Job description
Job description: *Key Responsibilities:* * Provide chronic hemodialysis care and develop comprehensive nursing care plans, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. * Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to interpret and adjust patient care plans. * Conduct patient referrals to dieticians, social workers, or vascular access centers as necessary. * Evaluate patients lab results and address any concerns or questions regarding dialysis treatments. * Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition. * Adhere to the facility's policies and procedures, complying with state and federal regulations. * Deliver age-specific care, including performing all aspects of the hemodialysis procedure as per state licensure requirements. * Perform technical skills related to patient treatment and emergency procedures as part of the competency assessment program. * Document and report all pertinent patient information accurately and clearly. * Participate in patient and family education, promoting a safe environment for all. Qualifications: * Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; a bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field is preferred. * Minimum of one year nursing experience; hemodialysis and ICU/CCU experience are desirable. * Current state licensure as a registered nurse. * Successful completion of training in the theory and practice of hemodialysis. * Valid drivers license and reliable transportation, with insurance, for applicable business travel. * Proficiency with computers is advantageous. * Current CPR certification according to the American Heart Association standards.
