JOB SUMMARY
Fawley Bryant Architecture, a full-service architecture firm with offices in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida, is seeking a Senior Project Architect . This individual will provide architectural leadership on intermediate- to large-scale projects, ensuring design excellence and technical quality. They will drive the design process from conception to completion, oversee site inspections to maintain alignment with design intent, and use BIM tools for architectural documentation. While they will not be responsible for full project management, they will work closely with Project Managers to deliver coordinated, successful outcomes. The Senior Project Architect will serve as a key liaison with clients, collaborate with internal teams and engineers, produce and review construction documents, support construction administration, and represent the firm in the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Design Leadership and Architectural Excellence : Lead innovative design efforts that balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Technical Coordination and Integration : Guide the integration of building systems using advanced tools like BIM to enhance design precision and project efficiency.Client Engagement and Vision Alignment : Partner with Project Managers to engage with clients, ensuring designs reflect their vision and requirements while clearly communicating architectural solutions.Architectural Oversight : Provide leadership for the design and technical aspects of projects from planning through completion, with an emphasis on design quality and constructability.Quality Assurance and Compliance : Ensure all project work complies with applicable laws, building codes, and safety standards. Implement quality control processes to uphold high standards of design and documentation.Mentorship and Team Development : Mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of professional growth and knowledge sharing within the firm.Innovation and Research : Stay current with industry advancements to lead innovation in design practices, particularly in sustainability.Sustainability Advocacy : Champion sustainable design, integrating green technologies and aiming for environmental certifications where applicable.Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration : Work in close partnership with Project Managers, engineers, and consultants to ensure comprehensive, well-coordinated project outcomes.SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and building codes.Proficiency in REVITExceptional design skills along with fluency in Adobe Suite, Sketchup and EnscapeStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills in a deadline-driven environmentExcellent written, oral, and organizational skillsQUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Architect10+ years of professional experienceProfessional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited U.S. institutionWillingness to teach and learnEnthusiastic, passionate, and curiousProactive attitudeDETAILS
