Location : Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

Industry : Distribution / Corporate Services

Pay : $75,000$80,000 annually

About Our Client : Addison Group is working with a well-established organization that operates across the U.S. and Canada. Our client has a large, multi-state footprint and is looking for a skilled Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and lead a small team through an upcoming transition.

Job Description

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations for a large employee base across multiple states (and a Canadian affiliate). This role includes supervising payroll staff, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, and maintaining accuracy in all payroll processes. The right candidate will be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and experienced in payroll systems such as ADP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process bi-weekly payroll for a high-volume, multi-state employee population.
  • Supervise and develop a payroll team, providing training and support.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax requirements.
  • Oversee system integrations between ADP and third-party vendors.
  • Review and audit payroll reports, reconciliations, and transactions for accuracy.
  • Maintain payroll documentation and employee records in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Partner with HR, Benefits, and Accounting teams to ensure data accuracy across systems.
  • Lead payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Prepare and distribute year-end tax documents such as W-2s.
  • Address payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred (not required).
  • 4+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proficiency with ADP Vantage or ADP WorkForce Now strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple states; Canadian payroll experience is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to streamline processes and create system efficiencies.
  • Stable work history (no frequent job changes).
