We are currently taking resumes / applications for EXPERIENCED Blasters for the Houma , LA and surrounding area. Duties / Responsibilities may / may not be limited to the following :

  • Job Summary :

Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment : Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.

  • Required Skills :

    • 5 Years Min Experience

  • Ability to set up and use blast pot and / or nozzle equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Job Duties / Responsibilities :

    • Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.

  • Masks specified areas of objects not to be painted to protect from unwanted over-spray.
  • Turn valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive material flowing through nozzle.
  • Operate equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasives over surface of parts. Manually directs nozzle over area to be blasted.
  • Loads parts on racks in enclosed rooms, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets.
  • Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel.
  • Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of parts
  • Manually directs nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
  • May set up ventilators; exhaust units, ladders, and scaffolding prior to blasting and / or painting
  • Blast and / or Paint in enclosed and open areas using proper protective clothing and equipment.
  • Washes surfaces to remove grease, rust, scale, and dirt, using soap and water, or with other solvents.
  • Cleans sand and debris from work area.
  • Cleans, maintains, and repairs all blasting and / or painting equipment.
  • May examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Physical Requirements :

    • Must be comfortable working at different heights

  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
  • This position is classified as heavy work exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Documents Required :

    • Driver's License / Identification Card

  • Social Security Card / Birth Certificate
  • Must have own PPE (hard hat, steel toes, gloves, & safety glasses.)
  • Must be able to pass drug screen & background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Pay :

    • $20.00 / Hour

  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay Schedule : Monday - Sunday
  • Schedule :

    • Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)

    8 AM - 5 PM

  • Duration of Job : Temp to Hire
