JOB DESCRIPTION

The Editorial Director is a critical part of telling our story to the world. They drive the editorial point of view and story of our brand and product for all our customer facing campaigns and channels including website, social, text and email and paid media including video and TV. They will collaboratively develop, write and direct the execution of the key product stores and concept new campaigns.

They will be the driving force of the editorial voice and concepts for the brand collaborating closely with trend, styling, creative, content, product and strategy teams. In addition to writing and creating our product storylines the Editorial Director will continue to champion the storytelling and brand through the execution process; guiding and reviewing the execution downstream by the creative team, agencies, freelancers etc. They will own the voice of the brand refining our storytelling across all channels and bringing our product stories to life for the customer in exciting new ways. The Editorial Director must be both highly strategic and highly creative in their approach, with a journalist’s flare for crafting a powerful story, and an advertiser’s edit to make it cut-through.

Essential Functions

• Maintains, champions the brand’s voice and robust style guides for internal, external and vendor partners.
• Leads the editorial direction and copy direction for all customer facing channels including our website, social, text and email, paid media including video and TV
• Creates campaign presentations by bringing product stories, storyboards, concepts and collections to life with compelling copy, voiceover and headlines
• Creates strategic, compelling, brand-right creative, campaigns, copy, editorial concepts, product naming, collection naming and product descriptions for the brand in close partnership with strategy, legal, trend, creative and merchandising teams
• Researches and stays at the leading edge of home décor trends and aesthetics for a broad range of styles and devours influential social and traditional channels and influences the At Home brand keeping it relevant and on trend.
• Contribute to campaign, concept, trend and strategy presentations to Executive team to create buy in and get approvals along with the rationale for the work.
• Serves as a creative partner for the trend, merchandising, marketing strategy, content and copy teams
• Directs external agency and production houses as needed, and provides direction as needed for executing down-stream creative
• Maintain effective and on-going communications and relationships with internal cross-functional teams.
• Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy to ensure communication with marketing leaders and other functional areas.
• Effectively communicates creative concepts, builds stellar presentations and wows when pitching new ideas
• Leads out as the voice of the studio to leadership on creative concepts, styling and storytelling
• Champions innovation and new approaches including integrating AI and new tools and approaches
