About The Position

Experience :

Trained and worked in a dedicated open-heart unit receiving patients directly from the operating room.

Current experience with the recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting.

License :

Registered Nurse License

Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have :

Experience with ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires / pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, Level 1 intra-aortic balloon pump, and ECMO.

Description :

The Cardiovascular Surgical ICU is an 18-bed unit.

It provides care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and the placement of ventricular assist devices, as well as other complex procedures.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1 or 1 : 2.

Candidates are preferred to have Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), critical care certification, and trauma course training.
