Title :  Project Engineer

Reports to :  Pre-Construction Manager

Schedule :  Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM (Overtime as needed)

Status :  Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Work Location :  On-site

Starting Pay :  $25.00 per hour, DOE

Summary

Project Engineer will work closely with Project Manager to ensure that all submittals, documentations, coordination, and materials for all projects are completed in an organized, timely and efficient manner. Project Engineer candidate must have excellent customer service

and represents core values in all execution of their job.

Role and Responsibilities

Includes the following with other duties as it is assigned.

1. Coordinate between Project Manager and Estimators regarding all project hand-offs.

2. Prepare meeting minutes for all project hand-offs, field coordination and pre-con & post-con meetings.

3. Prepares and tracks submittals and re-submittals.

4. Produce shop drawings and fabrication drawings for all projects.

5. Review the manufacturer's shop drawings to ensure they meet the project specifications

6. Review and request vendor quotes and lead times for all projects.

7. Review all updated project plans and specs and identify any scope changes. Communicate any changes to the Project Manager.

8. Provide project team contact list to General Contractor for every new project awarded.

9. Maintain job files as directed by the Project Manager. Job files includes :

a. Purchase Orders

b. RFIs

c. Vendor Invoices

d. Email Communications

e. Meeting Minutes

10. Prepare RFIs throughout the life cycle of the project.

11. Attend all project coordination meetings and production / project status meetings as required and prepare meeting minutes.

12. Acts as a liaison with vendors in such areas as material ordering, delivering coordination and / or paperwork.

13. Prepare with the help of the Project Manager, crane picks as required for the project.

14. Review and understand the scopes for all projects to assist in better field coordination meetings with other trades.

15. Assist Project Manager in material ordering as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty with objective analysis and evaluations. An individual must have an Associate degree (A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; one-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.

Preferred Skills

AutoCAD Skills

Ability to navigate and understand the different commands to produce a set of shop drawings.

Computer Skills

Ability to navigate the through the computer programs, files, and internet efficiently and effectively.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, read blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or members of an organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as converting fractions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to read and understand

a tape measure.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $22.00 - $28.00
