THE POSITION

Washington County's Land Use & Transportation (LUT) Department is now hiring a Learning and Development Specialist!

The Position

The Learning & Development Specialist is a member of the Learning & Development Team that supports training programs within Washington County's Land Use & Transportation Department. This role will initially focus on the training program for the Operations & Maintenance Division. To learn more about the Operations & Maintenance Division, use this link.

This position will help our employees remain compliant and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for the desired performance. They will do this by providing administrative assistance to the Learning & Development Analyst in researching training, gathering data and resources, creating feedback and evaluations, setting up and scheduling training sessions, and using the learning management system to upload, assign, track, and report all learning experiences.

Please note : This position works four 10-hour days in summer and five 8-hour days the remainder of the year.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist with experience in operational training programs and maintaining learning management systems like Workday. They have a results-driven approach, good problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a passion to enhance the overall learning experience for a diverse set of employees. The blend of technical proficiency, focus on employee growth, and commitment to delivering impactful learning solutions is key for our ideal candidate.

Education And Experience

  • Associates degree in Business or Public Administration, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, or a related field AND one (1) of increasingly responsible administrative support or experience in training, and / or learning development .OR
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative support or experience in training, and / or learning development.
