Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring strong neuro assessment and telemetry skills, with day and rotating shifts and every other weekend coverage.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work on a 32-bed Ortho / Neuro Med / Surg unit admitting all other medical overflow
  • Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic, neuro / surgical patients, fractures, and overflow medical cases
  • Clinician to patient ratio is 1 : 4 during day / evening shifts and up to 1 : 5-6 on night shift
  • Travelers are required to float to applicable units as needed
  • Rotating shifts between days, evenings, and nights may be required for Day Rotator positions; frequency is low
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Responsibilities include caring for orthopedic, neuro / surgical, and medical overflow patients while performing neuro assessments and interpreting telemetry strips
  • Travelers may be required to work every other weekend and may float to other units as needed
  • Epic EMR charting required
  • Adherence to dress code and hospital policies required
  • First time travelers are eligible
  • Permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston is considered local and subject to a reduced rate
  • RTO must be declared at time of application
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations are required with no religious or medical exemptions

  • Active MA RN license required at time of consideration; MA conditional licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg RN experience required
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • ACLS certification from AHA preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
  • Strong neuro assessment and telemetry skills required
  • Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccination required; no exemptions accepted
  • Candidates must provide two references for consideration
