This position will serve as the Finance Lead for a growing portfolio of programs within the Defense Systems business. The selected individual should partner with program managers, other cross-functional leads, and the Program Area Director to drive successful program execution, to grow the portfolio, and to enable achievement of business and financial objectives. This position is responsible for performing budgeting, performance monitoring as it relates to cost and schedule, forecasting, EAC development, proposal and new business support, and long-range planning. A successful team member must also be a strong communicator and an effective collaborator who can work cross-functionally to drive key financial and programmatic objectives. The selected individual will also serve as a leader within the program finance organization helping to mentor, train, and support more junior analysts. Responsibilities Major Duties & Responsibilities Exhibit strong analytical abilities and utilize critical thinking skills to address financial challenges and foresee potential future situations. Prepare short- and long-term forecasts, budgets, Estimates at Completion (EAC), and variance explanations while monitoring performance. Provide financial guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including but not limited to program managers, engineering and operational leads, etc. Collaborate with program managers, operations leads, Business Unit leadership, and other key stakeholders to promptly and effectively resolve operational issues. This includes planning and budgeting tasks, monitoring actual spending incurred, forecasting anticipated expenditures, and assessing expected profit margins. Establish, develop, and analyze cost and schedule baselines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Program / Project Estimates to Complete (ETC) and Estimates at Completion (EAC). Updates and maintains projects, work breakdown structures, and network activities in the Project Systems module in the company's ERP system. Interpret and maintain financial modeling and reporting tools and, communicate outcomes to other business functions. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications Minimum : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Two (2) years progressive experience as a Financial Analyst, Program Cost Control Analyst, Scheduler, or similar role. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license). Preferred : Aerospace and Defense Industry experience. Five (5) years or more progressive experience as a Financial Analyst, Program Cost Control Analyst, Scheduler, or similar role. Ability to obtain or maintian a security clearance. Experience with SAP or related ERP, Oracle Hyperion, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Proven ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights. Salary Range : $73,158.00 - $117,500.00 annually (San Diego, CA) Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
