Job Description
Lube Technician will perform basic preventative maintenance, inspect vehicles for potential problems, and troubleshoot issues to ensure vehicles are performing properly and the needs of customers are appropriately addressed. This role is expected to partner with our service department team and management to deliver superior service.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Take accurate notes on vehicle condition
- Prior dealership experience is a must
- Follow proper and explicit instructions
- Professional appearance and disposition
- Strong communication skills; listening
- Productivity through time management
- Prior technician experience
- Valid California driver’s license; insurable
- Drive manual and automatic transmissions
- Team-oriented with a positive, friendly disposition
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed partsInform Service Manager if vehicle is down awaiting partsSave and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customerExamine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is requiredInform Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promisedComplete a thorough Multi-Point inspection on each vehicleDocument work performed on each vehicle on the Repair OrderRoad test vehicles for diagnosis and repair verificationContinually monitor status of each vehicle and inform the Service Manager; escalate "wait" jobs as much as possible; monitor promised times and advise if there will be a problem meeting a promised time as soon as it becomes apparentEnsure that each vehicle is returned cleanReport to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or its employeesProperly use special tools and equipment provided by dealership or manufacturers; maintain an inventory of standard Technician tools not normally inventoried by dealership as "special tools"Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsComply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding customers’ vehicles, property, and informationMaintain a clean workspaceReport to management any problems with equipment, tools or dangerous conditionsProduce quality workReview technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by managementParticipate and utilize technical training as requested by managementEMPLOYEE BENEFITS :
