Job descriptionBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience. CPA preferred. Minimum of 3 years relevant and progressive professional experience in a large public accounting firm or corporation. Knowledge of state and local income tax laws and reporting requirements. Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and OneSource tax software. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Accounting and Finance Systems, Process & Technology - Designing, implementing, and maintaining financial management and reporting systems and complementary financial and administrative business processes, to support the effective and judicious use of financial resources. Analytical Thinking- Analyzing and synthesizing information to understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision making. Planning and Organizing - Reaching goals by making and following plans, setting, and sticking to priorities and allocating resources effectively. Attention to Detail - Working in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough manner. Fostering Communication - Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and effectively gets message across. Problem Solving - Identifying problems and the solutions to them. Employee must have the ability to sit and / or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands. Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Accountant, State And Local Income Tax
The Accountant, State and Local Income Tax assists in the preparation of state / local income tax returns and quarterly provision.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepares tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with all state and local regulations, statutes and ordinances.
- Assists in preparation of quarterly tax provision and related tax accounting requirements.
- Monitors state and local tax policies for law changes and assist with determining impact to provision and compliance calculations.
- Analyzes and reconciles fixed assets.
- Other projects and duties as assigned including other tax disciplines, i.e., Federal and international compliance.
