We’re seeking a motivated Manufacturing Operations Planner (Jr.) to help bridge the gap between our traditional, hands-on planning methods and our evolving ERP-based production environment.
As an AS9100D certified company, Allan Aircraft requires all employees to conform to AS9100D clauses specific to their departmental responsibilities. For a more departmental breakdown of these responsibilities, please see form AAH-1.1.
Job Summary :
The Jr. Manufacturing Operations Planner will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing our job planning and scheduling processes. This role blends hands-on manufacturing expertise with system-based planning and will play a direct role in the implementation and day-to-day use of JobBOSS². The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical mindset, solid manufacturing experience, and a passion for process improvement — no formal engineering degree required.

Duties / Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain job routers, BOMs, and manufacturing travelers in JobBOSS².
- Translate customer orders, quotes, and drawings into accurate, production-ready job plans.
- Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, and production teams to ensure seamless job release and scheduling.
- Support daily queue management for planning, estimating, purchasing, and recovery orders.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives within the planning department to improve flexibility and coverage.
- Help identify process bottlenecks and propose improvements to reduce manual rework and errors.
- Assist in data collection, workflow documentation, and planning metrics development as we scale ERP use.
- Act as a bridge between manual workflows and ERP-driven processes during transition.
- Support production scheduling, material planning, and order tracking to ensure on-time delivery.
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, production control, or scheduling (aerospace or job-shop environment preferred).Hands-on understanding of machining, fabrication, or assembly operations.Experience working with ERP or MRP systems (JobBOSS, Epicor, Global Shop, or similar).Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify root causes and recommend process improvements.Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with daily priorities that evolve.Excellent communication and teamwork skills across departments.Basic CAD reading ability and familiarity with mechanical printsNon-degreed applicants welcome — we value applied knowledge and continuous learners.Physical Requirements :
