Computer Aided Design Technician

Must Haves :

1+ years professional experience using AutoCAD

Experience working with geographical maps

High School Degree or equivalent

Valid Driver's License

Plusses :

Proficient with ARCGIS software / GIS software

B.S. or A.S. Degree

Civil or Environmental firm experience (groundwater potentiometric maps, iso-concentration maps, using chem boxes to display lab data)

3D drafting experience

Experience drafting soil boring / groundwater monitoring well cross-section diagrams

Overview :

Insight Global is looking for a CAD technician for a large engineering consulting firm in Savannah, GA. This candidate will perform computer aided drafting (CAD) for preparation of engineering drawings using industry appropriate software. The candidate will also perform hand drafting as needed. This person will work with engineers from multiple departments and utilize their drawings / drafts, information from vendor prints, catalogs and technical manuals and input this information / data into AutoCAD or ArcGIS and prepare engineering designs and drawings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects at one time as some projects can take a matter of hours whereas others can take weeks. This person will also serve as the drafting lead, discipline designer and / or drafting approver on multiple projects in providing those illustrated computerized drafts according to project specifications

Compensation :

$20 / hr to $25 / hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
