Position Summary
- Our client is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst for a critical data modernization initiative with our client, Scholarship America. This project is focused on enhancing their data and analytics capabilities on the Microsoft Azure platform.
- The ideal candidate will act as the essential bridge between non-technical business stakeholders and the core technical data team. Your primary mission will be to elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements for this data-centric project, ensuring the technical solution aligns perfectly with business goals.
- Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business users to understand and document requirements for data analysis, data migration, and BI / reporting.
- Translate business needs into clear, detailed technical artifacts, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and User Stories.
- Utilize strong SQL skills to perform data analysis, data profiling, and validation of data flows.
- Create and maintain detailed source-to-target data mapping documents and data dictionaries to guide the development team.
- Define requirements for BI reports and interactive dashboards, specifically for Power BI.
- Work within an Agile / Scrum environment, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria for the data and testing teams.
Mandatory Qualifications
Direct, hands-on project experience with the Microsoft Azure data stack (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI). This is a primary requirement.5-7+ years of proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Data Business Analyst.Demonstrable experience working on data-centric projects such as Data Warehousing, Data Lake, BI / Analytics, or Data Migration.Expert-level proficiency in SQL for data analysis, querying, and validation is non-negotiable.Strong, hands-on experience creating source-to-target data mapping documents.Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and proven experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
Experience in the non-profit or education sector.A relevant certification (e.g., CBAP) is a plus.
