Job description

Computer Bench Technician

Pay : $18 / hr

Join our team and help give electronics a second life! Our facility processes household electronics every day for recycling. While some items are scrapped for materials, others are salvaged, refurbished, and tested in our Tech Center.

About the Role

As a Bench Technician, you'll be part of our refurbishing and testing team. The Tech Center operates in three core departments :

  • Desktop Computers
  • Laptop Computers
  • Special Products (home electronics and consumer devices)

Your starting department will be based on your skills and experience-professional or personal. We also cross-train technicians across departments based on inventory and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform baseline testing and document specifications and functionality of assigned products.
  • Open and inspect computers, replacing basic components such as RAM, hard drives, and desktop power supplies.
  • Run BIOS scans and boot computers to internal servers for further diagnostic checks.
  • Test and reset special products, including cell phones, smart devices, speakers, car stereos, and soundbars.
  • Enter product specifications and test results into our internal inventory system.
  • Maintain productivity and turnaround goals while ensuring accuracy.
